Tis the season to fight with my wife over why eggnog really doesn’t suck and try to wrestle the cat off the tree so she doesn’t electrocute herself! It’s a season of merriment, extended mall hours, and ordering pizza when you burn the turkey.
So many great Holiday gift guides have been popping up on the internet lately, so here is yet another one! I found and arranged my favorite items based on price, not gender and kept usefulness in mind (“grow your own avocado tree kit”, no thanks!). I’ve kept it short and sweet so it can inspire and give you some great ideas! Here’s to a holiday where no gift receipt is necessary.
Under $100:
- Get your person a piece of luxury with a fine jewelry piece like this circle ring from Automic Gold jewelry. The rings are all stocked from size 2-16, so you are guaranteed to find a piece that fits right on the site! Bonus points for buying small, lgbt owned!
- Spring for a roomy robe that comes in sizes for everyone, like this plush plus option.
- We bought this Serene House diffuser for my mother in law for her birthday one year, and she loves it. It’s pretty sitting on any surface, and makes the whole room smell wonderful. If you need something elevated, but aren’t sure what to get, this is it.
- In the Northwest, you gotta embrace the gloomy weather and sit inside with a book and some delicious tea. This tea from around the world set will get you through an entire Tolkien anthology, War and Peace, and a Shakespeare play.
- How cute is this dog sweater? You always get extra kudos if you bring a gift for someone’s beloved pet.
- Remember that blog post about watches??? Prove you’re committed to never letting them go out of style with a travel watch roll.
Under $50:
- Get the meticulous planner in your life (got any blogger friends??) a custom 2019 planner from Bluesky.
- A coffee table book for the sneaker head in your life, “Nike SB: The Dunk Book” by Nike SB.
- Anyone with long flowing hair could use this hair tie bracelet. I’m kind of obsessed. Why didn’t anyone think of this invention sooner?
- Everyone needs a warm pair of touch screen gloves right about now. Unless you live in California, of course.
- If anyone on your list recently moved to a new place, or has new wedding or engagement photos to display, do them a favor and snag these stylish frames.
- Stocking stuffer alert: These Slip scrunchies are great for anyone with delicate hair and yes, scrunchies are coming back.
Under $25:
- A copy of “The Flavor Bible” by Karen Page, perfect for your resident foodie.
- “Spank the Yeti” the hilarious party game for a wild hostess. We played this one at Game Knight Lounge and couldn’t stop laughing the whole time.
- Another fun looking card game that has great reviews on Uncommon Goods is “Bards Dispense Profanity Game“. Looks like a lot of fun for your well- read host.
- A matching passport holder and luggage tag for the jet setter. Perfect for someone who say, might spend New Years in India? hint hint
- This Christmas coal chocolate is just screaming to be a white elephant gift.
- My father in law gave us all portable Iphone chargers one year for Christmas, and it was easily one of my favorite gifts that year because it came in handy ALL THE TIME.
Under $15:
- A cute little candle is the ideal thank you for a host, and it’ll get a lot more use than a bottle of wine (but wine is also good! And fits any budget!)
- This coffee maple syrup looks like something a Portlander would dream up. Oddly enough, it’s from the East Coast! It’ll perk up some French toast for your favorite brunch-goer.
- Butter socks make all the feet happy feet.
- Who doesn’t need soap? And these come expertly packaged because, let’s face it, everyone’s a sucker for amazing packaging.
- This Etsy shop really ought to be charging more for these custom wood carved ornaments. They can put any photo you like on them!
- Get them something local! Crafty Wonderland has an awesome selection of coasters you can mix and match with different Oregon landmarks on them. Give someone a piece of their home, or a souvenir to remember their travels by!
Now that your shopping is pretty much done, log off! Go spend time with your loved ones and enjoy the season. Happy holidays!
