On November 1st I walked into the mall, stomach still full of Halloween Kit Kats we were supposed to pass out to trick or treaters the night before, and there it was. The interior had been decked with trees, garland, and lights, and transformed into a magical winter wonderland overnight. One minute we were planning for our spooky costume parties, and the next, we’ve been thrown full force into Christmas mode without a care to think about poor Thanksgiving; the middle child of the holidays. So of course it got me thinking about what I’m going to wear to everything, and I found a few favorites to share with you!
For Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is about gathering with family, eating delicious food, and maybe lounging around and watching football or playing board games. Some families have fancier Thanksgiving traditions worth dressing up for, and some just like to hang out and indulge before the holiday shopping begins. Even if you don’t fall into the fancier Thanksgiving camp, odds are high that one of your relatives is going to bring a camera and try to get some family photos in, so having a go-to comfy dress that’ll look good and keep you comfortable is ideal. Try some of these options:
- This plaid Eloquii number: $119.95
- gray knit dress from Eloquii: $129.95
- Snakeskin dress from Anthro:$170
- Cozy knit dress from Anthro:$130
- Tartan shirtdress from Foxcroft: $118
- Cable knit sweaterdress from Leith:$69
- Plaid shirtdress from Torrid: $48.23
- Black jersey turtleneck dress from Torrid: $45.43
For the Christmas office party:
So you’ve got to schmooze with your boss so you can go out for that big promotion come January. Go for a simple, but statement making piece that you’ll feel comfortable and chic in. These cocktail options could work for any upscale holiday party, but if you want to make an impression and show off your style, start with any of these!
- Velvet green wrap dress from Eloquii: $109.95
- Confetti halter from Anthro: $180
- Velvet midi dress from City Chic: $59.40
- Teal surplice dress from City Chic: $53.40
- Sequined jaquard MICHAEL by Michael Kors:$140
- Emerald lace shift by JS Collections: $148
- Mesh plaid midi by Torrid: $59.43
- Winter floral midi by Torrid: $55.23
For a winter wedding
A fabulous winter wedding is a great excuse to get dressed to the nines during the holiday season. Have fun with something that has a little bit of movement on the dance floor and go with a maxi length option. Make memories in something you might not otherwise get an excuse to wear, and don’t forget to take tons of photos for the gram!
- Metallic wrap from Eloquii: $129.95
- Off the shoulder lace by City Chic: $113.40
- Trumpet gown from Xscape: $298
- High/low chiffon dress by City Chic: $59.40
- Emerald ball gown from Xscape: $298
- Burgundy beaded chiffon gown from Torrid: $104.23
For NYE
New Years Eve is a chance to let loose and get a little sexy. Go for shorter lengths, sparkle and texture and you’ll be ready for that midnight kiss! Just add champagne.
