Who doesn’t love a good list of the signs and what inanimate object they would be?? After doing one for Houseplant Shop, I couldn’t help myself and made a jewelry related list too! Scroll all the way down to yours and see if it makes any sense (or check your crush’s sign and boom, now you have a cute gift idea).

Aries:

Tennis bracelet

Aries is known for their unparalleled work ethic, but these rams play hard too. A classic tennis bracelet is a coveted jewelry piece not only because it elevates any outfit, but it displays just what a boss b*tch Aries really is. A tennis bracelet is the ultimate status symbol to anyone with a keen enough eye to notice, and the Aries wearer is a competitive one. Don’t be surprised if you see an Aries keep their bracelet on for a sporting event- they don’t shy away from being a bit of a dare devil, so long as they know there’s a safety clasp!

Taurus:

Nose ring

Aside from the obvious bull connotation, a nose ring can represent a departure from the norm. The Taurus wearer never does what is expected, and a facial piercing would certainly track. This is the perfect piece of jewelry for the artist who is planning on staying as far away from a 9-5 office job as possible. Taurus’s are often reserved and introverted, despite their outward appearances, so don’t let the shiny stud or septum ring fool you. Oh, and if a Taurus has made the decision to get a nose piercing, don’t ever try to talk them out of it- they are notoriously stubborn.

Gemini:

Mismatched studs

Gemini’s are often an indecisive bunch. Known for the many sides of their personalities, this jewelry trend speaks directly to the Gemini wearer. People standing to the right or left of the Gemini would get two distinctly different yet correlating views into their style with these earrings. This makes total sense considering the fact that Geminis often have lots of different friend groups that they have gathered from many walks of their life. They are a playful, intellectual and curious sign of the zodiac, and their choices of jewelry reflect as such. Don’t expect Gemini’s to stick to one metal color either- it would be entirely too boring for them.

Cancer:

Locket

What’s more sentimental than a locket? The Cancer might want you to think their locket is just another cute necklace at first glance, but upon closer inspection, there is most certainly a photo of a loved one inside. Cancers are fiercely loyal and protective of both others and their own emotions. Sometimes they put walls up, but once you have made it through to a Cancer’s heart, don’t be surprised if you end up inside their locket. They can be moody and sensitive, but it’s all a defense mechanism.

Leo:

Statement necklace

Nothing says drama like a statement necklace, and Leo is no stranger to the limelight. Always the center of attention, an eye-catching and compliment drawing piece of jewelry is sure to delight them. Leo’s are confident and ambitious social butterflies and their wardrobes usually reflect as such. Don’t be surprised if a Leo not only dons a statement piece but gives away an equally grandiose piece to a loved one- they are known for their generosity. But be warned, the Leo can get jealous and covet another’s jewelry if it’s just as alluring- their egos can get as large as their baubles.

Virgo:

Herringbone chain

Don’t be surprised to find the Virgo in your life wearing the same simple chain around their neck every day. It’s the perfect understated piece to wear alone with sweats at home and to layer with more pieces for added drama. They know the value of a solid piece of fine jewelry. They can wear it to bed and in the shower, as well as to the grocery store and the board room. Virgos are patient and reliable, so it makes sense that they would choose such an accessory. They are also known to sometimes overthink things, so having a good go-to piece is a must. But don’t mistake Virgos for being boring- they are creative souls and will add charms or layers on days they’re feeling more inspired.

Libra:

Drop earrings

Diplomatic and social creatures, Libras go-to accessory is a stunning drop earring. The perfect piece to add movement and sparkle to any party, the idealistic Libra doesn’t just want to converse- they want to dance! Perhaps their eagerness to get on the dance floor can also equate to their non-confrontational nature, and if there’s tension in the room they are quick to smooth it over. Libras bring balance to any space they are in, much like a dazzling pair of drops swinging effortlessly from the earlobes. Don’t be surprised to find that the Libra in your life already has an array of drop earrings- they know that life is meant to have movement.

Scorpio:

Signet ring

Much like the pinky ring on a mob boss, Scorpios are bold, powerful and assertive. They may not always outwardly appear as such, but Scorpios are not to be underestimated. Their jewelry may be subtle, but if a punch or two need to get thrown, the Scorpio is prepared. Scorpios are determined, ambitious and have a sharp wit. They choose their jewelry based solely on what they like, and often unwittingly set the trends themselves. The Scorpio in your life probably got their pinky ring passed down from a relative or bought it years ago, and thought it was cool way before everyone else did.

Sagittarius:

Anklet

The perpetual wanderer, Sagittarius would rather be on a beach somewhere and not really wearing jewelry at all. The jewelry suited for someone who is always on the move would be an anklet. Sagittarius’s are the free spirits of the zodiac and can’t seem to stay entirely still for very long. They are wonderful conversationalists and are always up for something spontaneous. The ideal piece for a Sagittarius is something they could have collected on their weary travels- perhaps an anklet hand beaded by a local. They know its sure to spark conversation as anklets aren’t in every jewelry box, and they know the best souvenirs are the ones that don’t take up too much space in their backpack.

Capricorn:

Evil eye bracelet

Capricorns can be a little pessimistic at times, and often find themselves seeing the glass as half empty. They seek comfort and security, and an evil eye bracelet might give them some peace of mind. Made popular by Greek culture, the evil eye is a talisman that wards against spirits that might want to cause harm to the wearer. Capricorns find solace in tradition and history, and the evil eye can be dated back as far as the 6th century BC. As a piece of jewelry, the evil eye also adds a pop of color to any wardrobe, which can be a welcome addition to the Capricorns usual neutrals. Capricorns are pragmatic and disciplined, so the jewelry they wear must also have value or meaning to them, otherwise it’s just pointless!

Aquarius:

Anything vintage

Estate sales, thrift shops or grandma’s jewelry chest- leave it to the Aquarian to find a treasure. An afternoon of solitude, sifting through drawers of dusty gems sounds like an Aquarius’s dream. Aquarians are independent, unique and artistic- and their jewelry collection reflects as such. They love any piece that has a unique story to it and will definitely tell you all about how they found their vintage watch rummaging through a yard sale on a rainy Saturday. They also value the idea of recycling or upcycling their jewelry as they have humanitarian concerns about where brand-new pieces come from. But be warned, the Aquarian may already have a drawer of broken jewels at home in need of some polish or repair. They always have the best of intentions in getting around to fixing them, but rarely do.

Pisces:

Mood ring

The extra sensitive Pisces is drawn to the nostalgia of a 90’s mood ring. Not only does it harken back to a blissful time in their childhood, but it is an outward way of expressing their feelings. The intuitive Pisces probably doesn’t even need a mood ring to understand what they’re feeling, but they enjoy the colorful display it provides, nonetheless. Pisces people love an escape, even within their jewelry boxes, and probably have several crystals, tarot decks or incense nestled between their jewels as well. They might be stuck in the past, but know that all trends eventually come back into season
